Here comes the bride….Posted: April 24, 2012
Weddings, love them or hate them, I think they are here to stay. Weddings are often featured in films and with my sister getting married this past weekend I got to thinking about some of my favorite movie weddings:
Love Actually (2003)
Juliet (Keira Knightley) and Peter’s (Chiwetel Ejiofor) wedding was sweet, and the band playing “All You Need is Love” as they walked out was awesome (Maybe I just love The Beatles too much).
Sixteen Candles (1984)
The wedding may be a fairly short portion of the film, but it’s hilarious, and when Jake (Michael Schoeffling) shows up to pick up Sam (Molly Ringwald) at the end of the movie it never fails to make me smile.
The Wedding Singer (1998)
I can only imagine what the life of a wedding singer was like in the 80s. This movie has inspired me to one day use string versions of Journey songs at my own wedding.
27 Dresses (2008)
I might lose some street cred here, but I really liked this movie. It is a very typical RomCom, but I found it entertaining, and I actually knew someone who wanted to do a “Gone with the Wind” wedding so maybe it wasn’t to far-fetched.
The Graduate (1967)
Not all movie weddings end with happily ever after.
